Amazon App Store now available in Ireland

    Looks like the Amazon App Store is up and running for Ireland now. I just downloaded an app successfully.
    Android owners the world over have been browsing the Amazon Appstore today. Having thus far only worked in the US, today the Appstore has been confirmed for UK, Canada, South Africa, Venezuela, Finland, Ireland, Austria, Estonia, Romania, Poland, and more. If you haven’t downloaded the Appstore yet, you can download it from this direct link.

    The downsides are that you need to have an amazon.com account (not amazon.co.uk), you need to turn on 1-click payments, and you need to register a valid payment method before you can download anything (even free apps).

    I just installed this and got "The Amazon Appstore for Android is not yet available in your region" when I tried to download the free app of the day?

    I just tried it myself and it's not working for me either.

    It was working last night though - I downloaded a free torch app from the right list in the app.

    Edit: According to comments here, Amazon may have turned it off again. It was not announced officially by Amazon, so they may have screwed up somewhere.

    It is bull**** that the Amazon UK app is available only on the UK market. Their site is aimed at us too.

    No idea if this still works for new accounts but i set it up when it was first launched and it still works fine
