    I'm going to the US for a couple of weeks and was told this;
    If you have a smartphone I would recommend you to buy a pay as you SIM card with a data plan. I bought one a T-Mobile quite cheap and then you pay around 1,50 USD to use internet as much as you want for 24 hours.

    Does anyone have any experience of this?

    I used Simple Mobile last time I was there.

    Used AT&T a few months before that.

    Both both sims from someone on ebay. prepay so no contracts or anything. Had data.
