With nearly all the runners and riders declared (only Norris in doubt I think) should we have a sub forum for the election?

How about one sordid mega-thread instead of more sub-forum clutter. A thread where everyone can sling mud at all the candidates together.
or else re-name the GE forum to simply "elections" and put local / national / presidential / referendum / foreign elections etc in there.

Well that would be my own solution (GE forum that is).

SO as I said, we were discussing this already, and OB kindly used his Admin powers to make this happen this afternoon.

We'll move the Prez Election threads in there, along with anything else suitable, as a catch all election type forum

When navigating using the top menu bar, the Elections forum still appears as Soc >> Politics >> General Election 2011

TBH, a year from now, people will have difficulty remembering who won who is in office. I'm not sure we need a sub forum for the most inconsequential election in Irish politics.

It's being turned into a general Elections forum for Irish elections to discuss general elections, local elections, by-elections etc as well as Presidential elections.
