Sincere and humble apologies your holiness,

Due to unforseen circumstances I will be unable to attend your day of worship, but I will do my best to point me mat in the right direction and say a few words in honour of your reign of glory.

May your cup over-runneth, and may the best man win!!

Great match today. Conditions were lovely and organisation was spot on. The electronics really make it interesting.

Any scores for those out of the loop this week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Gary Duff won it with 591, Sam took second with 589 and Ray Kane came third with 582. Afraid I don't remember the final scores but they didn't change anything in the top three anyway. Took 573 to make the final, which reflects how good conditions were, even with the low turnout.

Not that I've seen. Would quite like to see the final scores for everyone else. Think that poxy new format (Turn and face the audience?! What friggin' audience?!) may have cost everyone. Certainly did me no favours with my 100.1. :o

I dunno, I quite like it! As with everything it's getting the experience of doing it that makes it less daunting/alien next time.

Bah. It's daft. The whole idea was to make the finals media-friendly, but if ISSF think that having them face the audience while the commentator says what the commentator would have said anyway will make it suddenly appealing to the 18-30 demographic, they're cracked.

Now, if you had to be strapped into a rika for the finals so everyone could see your POI trace, heartrate and trigger pressure...

None of the finals were good Dave to be honest but I dont think it was the new stlye final that stuffed people up!;)
I have to say that I relaxed after my first two shoots a little too much as all of Sams "I'm gonna catch you in the final" chat had me in stitches!!:D

I dunno now. I had great sighters for the first eight minutes, but couldn't get down and sorted quickly after the introductions and was never properly settled and comfortable for the final itself. The good shots were despite myself really.

    I'd agree with Floydster.......for once.

Finals add that wee bit of extra pressure we don't normally train with, and in my case it all went tits up. Like you Dave in sighting I couldn't miss, fired two lovely tens and stopped to wait on the intros. After the intros I shot 4-5 even better tens.

Once the final started I couldn't hit a ten to save my life. After the first two shots I have to admit I gave up trying to catch Duff!!

    Some day ;)

I have to say, I do really like the finals and the extra thumping in the chest, keeps you sharp, but I just never settled after that intro. I could have stopped shooting sighters, but I just kept shooting deep tens because I couldn't stop. Must have had about eight good tens in a row, but the intros round messed me up. Will have to train for that one now!
