im planning a trip to nz in november and based on price , malaysian and air nz seem on a par , ive heard good things about both , i realise air nz go by los angeles but im ok with that , the biggest issue for me is leg room , was wondering if anyone has any experience with either airline , emirattes are in or around the same money btw

ps , i dont want any recomendations to fly with singapore airlines as they are too expensive

I flew with Air New Zealand in April from LA to Melbourne via NZ. I would highly recommend them. The flight wasn't packed at all and I was able to move seats further down the plane where there was heaps of legroom, it wasn't even an exit seat. I think it was a jumbo they used though.
One other thing, the food was probably the best I have had on all the airlines.

thanks but it looks like im going with malaysian , got a deal which is 200 euro cheaper than air new zealand , amazing the difference in price through different operators

ps , i hear LA airport is a bit of a nightmare , even for those in transit ?

Nah, it's fine, worst part is lining up to get into the airport terminal, getting poked, prodded, swabbed and questioned. The yanks tend to go a bit over the top with security.
