    Hi,

How busy does this get on a Saturday? Heard queues last year were ridiculous. Would it be quiet @4pm or would I still have to face long queue?

    Thanks

It will get very busy but i would say if you get there before 4 you should get in without having to q up. Its normally later it starts getting mad down there.

    Its great craic.

It gets pretty mad alright, I remember last year the queue stretched about 2 blocks by 8 or 9. You're best off parking yourself down there nice and early and getting sorted with seats and stuff!

if you are not there by 4pm on saturday forget it, we arrived about 6ish last year and the queue went right up to the luas stop and barely moved at all, only we had someone on the inside who knew one of the security we would never have got in

Ha, I remember last year waiting around for a good few hours to get in, and in the end just gave up and went the pub nearby...which was dead!!

I'm going again this year with work so I've warned them all to get there early!!

What's the story with the wristbands?
Does everybody need them after 10 or only people arriving after that time?

How was it by 4pm on a Saturday last year?

I want to go in this year but am happy to go in for a few hours during the day, not planning on a crazy night of it. I'm excited for the BEER and the FOOD. Havn't been before but heard good reviews, I hadn't realised how busy it gets though, is it only a small space or is it a lot of people or a mix of both?

Was there yesterday. Got in at 3pm. No queue. Looked over at 6pm and there was a queue at least 100m long.

Yes I went Saturday too, think the queues started about half 4 or so, great day

Is there any part of the 'festival' in 2012 that is family friendly? Or is just a beer gig?

During the day there's a few kids knocking around, there's food and a tent with music

They used to have shops and stalls but not anymore. I wouldn't really consider it a great spot for kids. Gets cold and there's nothing for them to do.
