So, how's your orientation going so far?

Didn't manage to meet anyone on my course today - just a few nurses >_< All fairly dull today, nothing I didn't know already. Looking forward to finding out a bit more about my modules and timetable and all that malarkey tomorrow!

I thought today was pretty dull :( The talks were really interesting to start but I was almost falling asleep by the final one. The tour wasn't that great, the one on the open day was much better. The guy doing it was a ledge, I have to say, except I can't remember his name :o The guy in the green shirt anyway.
I didn't get talking to anyone new but I kept bumping into people I didn't know would be there so it was a little weird.

I'm dying for tomorrow! We get to meet more people and learn about what we'll be studying (hopefully). I hope someone can explain the timetable to me anyway :)

I was ridiculously tired and social nerves got the best of me unfortunately. I was half-asleep once the talks were over, and floated through the tours. I had the clubs rep and the business rep....I think...

CA I take it? Surnames A-G are in at 9, H-M are at 9.50 and N-Z are in at 10.45. Just turn up at whichever time you're meant to be at. All you'll be doing is hanging around otherwise.

Ye today was very boring tbh. I did that talk that went on forever and ever and ever...Then did a maths test (literally ha).

Was talking to a few people from my course seemed cool enough. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit more interesting anyway. Looking forward to it.

Also anyone know where/when you can join clubs and socs?

If it's anything like every other year ever, Tuesday and Wednesday of Week 2. The SU will let you know. Anyway, they'll be hard to miss.

You're in SE, right? When I started there was a meeting for all the SE1's where you meet the programme chair, Brien Nolan (also the Maths staff rep of the SE board), and the three staff reps for Physics (Paul van Kampen), Chemistry (Odilla Finlayson) and Education (James Lovatt). Afterwards we were brought down to one of the Physics labs were we had tea, biscuits, banter and all that.

You, in particular, don't have to worry about how you go about getting to know people from your course. The Teaching Methodologies module will solve that problem. The first couple of classes of that module are geared around getting to know people in your class..
