Hi Guys, i started putting this together after the Hurling all-ireland final. I was trying to explain Hurling to some friends abroad. What do you think?

looks good, but if you are trying to explain hurling to someone - simply show them a match, much easier.

It's certainly well done, and generally pretty good. Bit of an exaggeration on the hurleys though. And also I think a hurling pitch is just under 1.5 times a soccer pitch.

Typo in the first quote, 'my'' instead of 'may'.

Looks good. I think the space shuttle part should read either "The speed of the Space Shuttle on lift off", or "The same speed as the Space Shuttle on lift off".

Really like the poster. Its very well done.

A player going through 100 hurley in 18 months is exaggerated. If you look at hurling matches, you would normally see 2-3 hurleys broken on average. That figure would be more credible if a team of 25-30 players was to go through 100 hurleys in 18 months.

In any one season, I would have broke about 5 hurleys when playing with my club.

100 hurleys in 18 months  Is he using them for firewood?
    That's €2000 !
sounds like figures for a whole team not one player.

Space shuttle comparison is kind of loose. It's at zero km/h at lift off, and passes through 161 km/h at some arbitrary point for a fraction of a second. Doesn't really lend itself to an understanding of the speed of the ball.

Other than that it's very good!

This satistic is a little over the top:D.The average hurler would go through about 3 hurleys per year.(With getting em fixed and all)

Mmm, maybe I should not have relied on Journalistic sources for my information...

It appeals to yanks that way FFS:D. 100000 miles an hour. They might make it a game over there if we promote it properly. When you watch a game of boring American Football and compare it to hurling-There is no comparison.

For sure. As an ex-hurler I can guarantee you that hurlers love their hurleys. If its chipped or whatever, its brought to the local hurley fixer(Theres one in every parish), and the hurley gets fixed.

Ice hocky is the fastest game. Hurling is the fastest most skillful game.

Sport with a dash in it,
    clatter and clash in it,
    Sport with ash in it,
    surely a game.

    :D

John B.Keanes quote is a good one....... If you have an irish sense of humour. Other than that it just sounds like a puck-fest, and i don't mean sliotar's being hit.
