Personally they remind me of the early 2000s when they were very popular.

I think they look great worn in a rockabilly style. The butterfly clips and hair twists to accessorize are best left back in the noughties.

If you like it, buy it!

I don't personally like it but I don't think it's tacky either. could definitely work if you like it.

I like the idea. Reminds me of Anne Hathaway in a scene in One Day, and in my opinion, that could never be a bad thing! I can't find any really good pictures of the dress but this gives a general idea :

Not tacky at all as far as I'm concerned. :)

I wouldn't say tacky, but they're quite dated imo.

    +1

I do like it, but I think that look is slightly dated too.

I really like it, would wear it, but avoid trying to look really oriental e.g. with a bun or sticks in your hair because it wouldn't be very original and make you look more like you're in fancy dress! But it's definitly doable

It's very early 2000's but i guess you could bring it back in style!!!

As others have said maybe try to personalise it a bit and don't just wear it the way it would have been worn back then (jeez that makes me feel old!!!)

I wore a similar one to my 18th in 2005! But I do quite like them and once they're worn right it shouldn't look too bad.

i think its nice - this one is very toned down as it is almost one colour.. i would consider it for an occasion myself..

I read the title and said , "oh god" and then looked at it, and i really like it :) i wouldn't wear it because high necks don't suit me but, with dark hair, it could look good :) definitely not rihanna hair though (i don't know why i pictured that.)

As perhaps the only male to respond on thread so far I'll chip in and say that they are really very nice. Yes they can look tacky if you pick one up from the many stalls around town- these tend to not be of the best quality. If you're getting one and it's well made an oriental dress can look brilliant.

I wouldn't worry to much about how 'dated' it might look. If it's well made and you can wear it well then that's all that matters.
