He's certainly improved a lot on last year and played consistently well all year. However, his world ranking doesn't really reflect this. Regular Top 20s don't really do much for your ranking. He needs to have one or two really good weeks to move up quicker. He started the year ranked about 75 and is now at 48. If he were to have a poor end to the season, he could conceivably end up more or less back where he started in January.

I wasn't being negative, I was just pointing out that he hasn't managed to really make the most of his better form so far this year.

The nature of the world rankings are such that he would earn far more points for one big win & nine missed cuts than he would for ten 15th place finishes.

Missed this thread last weekend. Yup, good ole' Sergio whacked a bunker to bits again last weekend. I've heard of the one where you walk 5 paces from the scene of your last bad shot, but to beat the crap out of the bunker with an iron??

Is he beginning to think maybe his ship has sailed?

    Sergio is a prick !

He can play some great golf and can be great to watch but there are sometimes when you just want to kill him, when his putter stops working his game can go to crap so quickly.

But I wish I could strike the ball the way he does.

He can be a bit petulant and loose the rag at times, but we all know why.! So instead of saying Sergio is a prick we usually say "Ah poor Sergio at it again". :p
