Decreasing noise from my window

Hi, I really know nothing about DIY. I'm currently living in an apartment which is by a road and it gets fairly noisy in my room. I was just wondering if you would have any advice or materials I could use to decrease the level of noise by my window? Cheers

you can get double glazed glass, and i know you can get a plastic you put over glass to thicken it for insulation maybe that will work?
