Sorry new to Galway too, but you can take the feda o donnell bus on out to the cathedral if thats any closer to your accomodation! Not many people stay on so most people dont seem to realise!

Well I live in the area and can tell you the Newcastle bus is the 4W. However I noticed you said Sunday, which means that both the Newcastle and Rahoon routes are served by the one bus. In this case it'll say 4W/5W or Newcastle/Rahoon.

The timetable is here http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1202229971-Galway5Sun.pdf . There's one at 7.40 which would probably suit you. Get the bus at the stop in Eyre Square, directly across from Fibber Magees and the Pharmacy. :)

Back in the day, Feda used to send one bus out towards Corrib Village, so you might want to ask one of the drivers if they're still doing it. Mind you, that was many a year ago now, so who knows!

I'm fairly sure the last bus on a Sunday evening runs out to Newcastle after it has dropped people off in Eyre Square. Definitely did a few months ago anyway, and I don't see why they'd stop...

Yup. Bus stop D or E on the city-bus-stops map, depending on what other buses are around.
