I've dug out all my old pokemon games recently and discovered how awful the original GB colour games were graphics-wise. I want to buy Fire Red/ Leaf Green but no idea where to look for them in Dublin, and don't want to buy fakes. Anyone have any idea?

Fire Red will look slightly less awful, but still awful. The Gameboy Advanced is pretty outdated :/

Try R.A.G.E in Dublin city. They have a FB page and are easy to find (5 min walk for St. Stephens Green shoipping centre).

Thanks so much for that! I was trying to think of the name of that place for ages and couldn't think of it. Great that they have a facebook I'm gonna ask them, save me a trip into town. Any more options would be greatly appreciated!

True, depending on one's tastes, it's ironic though, that a near decade old game with a limited handheld processor, still has a more diverse colour palette
than the majority of AAA, Brown&Bloom, 7th gen offerings.

I have a short loan of my friends Fire Red at the moment and the graphics are way better than the original. My obsession waned by the time Silver/Gold came out and by Ruby/Sapphire even though the graphics were good for the time, I'd lost all interest. That's why I want to get back into the remakes of the originals.

I didnt care for the remakes. I still play Red on my PC from time to time. Graphics arent a big deal, gameplay is.

Problem with moving from playing Red on your PC to playing on the GB/GBA/DS is you lose the "hyperfighter" mode where it runs at roughly 10 times it's normal speed, reducing grinding from days to minutes. :)

Don't knock the remakes, it's not just a face lift, they introduced a number of quality-of-life improvements too. Also, with FR/LG and a DS/DS-L you can raise a team that can go on to win all 5 regional championships if you're that way inclined and at least 1 cart from each gen.

    Thanks for the help!

Hopefully I'll get them somewhere....I'm just keeping fingers crossed that I don't get stuck with fakes *crosses fingers*
