That Canadian lad, Adam Kleeberger, for his mad beard growing skills!

In fact, the Canadians in general really impressed me, they could be the best of the minnows. They've some good players and could really improve if they had a fully professional team.

Kleeberger has played some great rugby, not as evident in the French game but I agree I've been rather impressed by the Canadians too!

The Canadians also have some fine beards going on!

I've been impressed by the USA and Russia at times too, not to mention the great performances the japanese have shown

A few of the Canadians seemed to have impressive beards! Is it something to do with The Canadian Grizzly Bear?

It's an NHL tradition (and an overwhelming majority of NHL players are Canadian, and the league is a national institution). Players shave on the eve of their first playoff game, and don't shave until their team is eliminated or wins the Stanley Cup, up to 2 months later.

Basically, in Canada, beards go hand in hand with serious sporting competition.

    Kleeberger as well for me.

Canada, Japan, and Georgia could be up there with the Samoans, Fijians and Tongans in 4 years time. Id they were just conditioned a bit better, they'd last (France scored 6 of their 10 tries in the last 10 minutes of their 2 games so far).

The World Cup would be great with 16 quality sides in it.

It's been great to see Canada as a team doing well; they were beaten less by French skill and experience than by superior fitness and conditioning. They were within a score of Les Bleus until the 65th minute, and from then on they looked more and more worn out, while the French were able to keep going. It should be interesting in four years' time to see a mostly professional Canadian unit (and I'll be surprised if there aren't contracts waiting for a lot of the Canadians at the end of this World Cup) competing at the World Cup.
