Reception issues

Many Nokia and similar "plain" phone users on Vodaphone have reception at my house, but most smartphone users don't (including my iPhone 3G and another iPhone 4.

Are there any Android phones that have a particularly good ability to receive a signal in marginal areas like mine? There doesn't seem to be a benchmark of reception listed in the features of any phones on the company sites, but clearly some phones are better at picking up a signal than others.

Does anyone know where I can find this information? (I'd hate to have to move house). Thanks.
