I played ladies GAA with the college for a couple of weeks last year. It was good craic, and the trainer encouraged girls of any standard to come along and play, because it was more about the enjoyment of the game than taking it really seriously. However, as it approached the time of year for playing the league I found things to be getting a bit silly, with the trainer requesting players to get the "official training gear" and stuff like that. I have no problem taking GAA seriously, I play at a high level with my club during the year, but I thought that training year was a bit OTT, especially as my funds were quite low, so I packed it in!
I don't wana put you off joining though, as when I did train with them, it was very enjoyable! They train in Clanna Gael in Ringsend which is a 20min walk from the college, and in Santry too, which is a bus journey away. I'd recommend you join, even if it is just until Christmas, as it's a great way to make new friends, and get fit!

I am a complete beginner, as in i've never even held a hurl in my entire life but i would like to start Camogie. Is this possible or a waste of time?! If so where would i go for training/lessons . I'm 26 and living in Dublin city.

I would imagine your first port of call would be try and find the GAA stand in Front Square this week (Freshers Week) and they will be able to tell you what you need to know and if you do sign up, they will inform you about upcoming training times and locations.
