I am often accused of being a cockblocker myself! Personally at the end of a night out I like to go back mine or a friends house and continue having a good aul session! Much more fun than probably being kicked out of my own bed to sleep on the couch while trying to block out the noise of people having a ride upstairs!

On the other hand, I have been the victim of a cockblocker on occaision too! Fair enough though.... What goes around, comes around!

To throw out a few examples:
- I've seen guys (who currently had girlfriends) block mates.
- I've seen guys who've been set up with a girl previously by a mate, block the mate :rolleyes:
- I've seen women, who were only just friends with a guy, block them with any friend.
- I know a guy who will jump in on any conversation you opened with a girl. Not only trying to cockblock you. But get with her instead of you! :mad: ... (punchable offense in my opinion) The guy is too shy to go up cold to a girl. So he'll let his mates do it. Then "randomly" talk to the mate and try to screw you over. Talking over you.
- First hand I saw a guy who blocked a mate getting with a female friend he knew. He got in her ear trying to put a stop to it. Truth be known he only ever met this girl like 3 times in his life. While the mate he went on countless nights outs with :rolleyes:


Lesson learned? ... MATES WILL ALWAYS COCKBLOCK YOU!

I've cockblocked a mate when he was making a huge mistake, thats the only time its intentionally happened.

other times just involved the girl saying hi to me or asking me a qustion which leads to a full blown conversation... when beforehand it was just two of them alone...

We all cockblock each other, and have a good old chuckle the next day about it.

I was backstage at a festival once and got really drunk and chatty with the hot bassist from one of the bands ( i didnt know which band), we were on the brink of kissing after me telling her i had flown in especially to see her and her band, and i was a massive fan and appreciator of the artists they are , blah blah blah...

My mate had overheard all this, and just as we're about to kiss, he walks over and asks me what band she's in with a big smirk, i tried to weasle out of it, no chance, i chanced my arm and named one of the bands, wrong band, she just walked off, that was a great cockblock.

To us it just adds another layer of difficulty/fun in trying to score, but most of the time we work as a team and divide and conquer.

I'd gladly go out of my way to help a buddy hook up. If he or she is exaggerating a bit, I'll go along with it. If I'm going to be the 3rd wheel, I'll leave. If I'm dating a girl, and she's got a friend, I'll introduce them or do a double date. And they'd do the same for me.

Good lord... I don't think I've ever known someone who would stand in the way of a friend going home with someone they're interested in. Maybe when I was about 17, but otherwise... These people exist in an older age bracket? :eek:

Although, to be fair, I'd be concerned about any friend (male or female) who's so drunk they're about to lose consciousness, going home with anyone...

No, like Ickle said if a friend liked the guy that's another story. I've gone well above and beyond the call of duty to help my friends score with a hot guy they just had to get with.

Well if a friend is really interested in a fella I won't get in her way, but if it was someone they are'nt really bothered about I don't mind doing it. They do the same to me regulary and we end up having a better night out together as friends without any major hook ups getting in the way. I guess thats just how we are as a group!

That being said, I won't ever stop someone getting a good aul shift but sometimes a friend bringing someone home can be a bit annoying in certain circumstances!

If a fella is after a friend and she has no interest, I will cockblock HIM big time!
