Sold laptop - some advice needed

Almost sure this is in the right forum. I sold a laptop yesterday on a popular ad site (not adverts) that was working 100%. I've just received a phone call from the guys friend telling me the laptop isn't working and that they have to give it back to me. Now, I'm pretty sure I don't have to, as when I gave it to him (he also checked it was working fine) it was working fine.

Am I correct in saying I don't have to take the laptop back? How can I prove it wasn't dropped or damaged while the buyer had it?

    Cheers.

In a private sale you don't have to do anything you don't want to. All depends though on what policies might be in place with the site you used or the payment handler. How were you paid? If it was cash, then you're in the clear. If it was Paypal then they can get involved, but I don't think they'll force you to do anything.

It was working fine at the time of sale, so I'd say this guy has done something stupid, and is looking to cover for his stupidity.

Thats pretty much what I thought, especially when I was paid cash.
