Was just wondering, does anyone know anywhere in Dublin which would do a general setup of the guitar? Couple of the strings have buzzing issues, you can clearly see that the high E's action is lower than the rest, stuff like that.

In all probability it needs either a new nut or a bridge adjustment.

I'm very nervous to do this kind of stuff on my own in case I ruin the guitar. Is there anywhere in Dublin which would basically set it up back to the way it was when I got it action and tuning wise? I LOVE this guitar so I'm very nervous to get anything too extensive done to it like re-fretting or anything like that, I'm literally just looking to get rid of the buzzing problem.

The other problem it has (which I assume is also action related) is that once you go beyond fret 12 on high E, each note sort of doubles up a semitone below itself, if that makes any sense? You get a very faint sound of the note a semitone below as well as the note you're actually trying to play.

Would Waltons be a good place to get this sorted?
Also, how much will it cost to get all this done?

EDIT: To be clear about this, the general action isn't a problem. Adjusting the bridge won't help me here, as it's just one string which is lower than the rest, and I'm not too sure how one fixes that.

Personally I would not go near Waltons. I have no experience of these places myself, but I know that they are generally recommended here on the "Instruments" forum.

    Hi,

I had a thread here a while ago regarding the great work Gerry Hayes of Haze Guitars did on my guitars... Two of which were Les Pauls.

He'll be able to explain to you exactly what the problems are, and what options you have to resolve them.

I can't say enough about how good he is, highly recommended.

    Best wishes,

    Tony

I'll +1 for Gerry Hayes, he's done a few guitars for me including my '91 LP which I have been very happy with
