    Hi.
im wondering has or is anyone on here doing this course? Would anyone be able to give me information about the course and especially the job opportunities one could get? and if i was finished this course now would it be difficult to get a full-time job.
i like business studies in school and im thinking of doing something around this area and jobs in finance seem well paid but are they safe?

    Boring as F***!

Don't listen to the WIT website this degree sounds like an exciting field but what is actually taught on the course has little relevance to it's name.
Year 1 Semester 1: ( According to the WIT Website )
    ▪ Introduction. to Statistic
    ▪ Basic Financial Accounting
    ▪ Principles of Micro Economics
    ▪ Personal Financial Management
    ▪ ICT Skills (Information Technology)
    ▪ Professional Written Communications
The only class you would think is entirely relevant to the course name is ▪ Personal Financial Management & this is even a lie as it's not taught to first years, it has been replaced by the tedious topic business law:(.

Compared to general business level 8, the exact same subject choices are learned. So basically, if you are willing to wait until semester 2 of 2nd year to get into any real financial & investment side of things, then go for it.
    the
Also, this course has been struggling in the last number of years with numbers, as only 8 people were on the course in 2010. Making it ridiculously small when people head home during the long breaks or are hungover and don't come in most of the time.

So basically, No, it's not a good option for a school leaver! WIT has so few things to do as-well during classes it's not really worth going for.
A similarly (named) degree(finance) in UCC or UCD offers relevant topics to study from the start of year 1 & doesn't p!55 you about with a business degree that has a financial twist!

Year 1 Topics of study (Finance UCC)
    Financial Reporting I
    Management Accounting I
    Business Finance I
    Economic Data Collection and Analysis
    Quantitative Techniques for Economics
    Principles of Economics Analysis

The 3year degree part is a joke!
Once your in 2nd year they start mixing you with 3rd & 4th years who have been studying business alot longer & just elected finance as their optional subject! I would also recommend not doing this degree without at least leaving cert economics & accounting, I did not have this problem, but my class size nearly halfed with people failing because the lecturers at the time rushed the basics *especially accounting* presuming people had a good prior knowledge of the subject!

Finally, there is one good thing though!
If you survive & get good marks after 3 years postgrad study is handy enough to find somwhere else & you could have a masters in 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
