Minecraft Cheap Graphics Card

I have an Intel Duo Core 2.53 GHz Processor, I'm upgrading to 4 GB RAM. I currently have a G33/G31 Express Chipset Family graphics card (came standard with PC) and it's terrible. I lag so much I can't break a block when I have render distance on Tiny. So I want a graphics card for under 50 euro that won't lag and I can have render distance on Far. Also my power supply is 300 Watt and a lot of the graphics cards I see say 300+ Watt needed. Could this be a problem?

First youll have to check what slot for a gfx card you have, pci express x16 or AGP

edit: If you do have pci-e then your best bet is an ATI 5450 like this one

    http://komplett.ie/Komplett/product/ZKB_01COM/10_GRPCARD/10_ATI/productdetails/15580625/Sapphire_RADEON_HD_5450_1024MB_PCI_E/11166_02_20R/default.aspx

which has the faster DDR3 memory as the 5450's have different configurations for each manufacturer.

I'll have a look at my case in a moment and I'll try find out what I have. That graphics card is 500 watt though, and I only have a 300 watt power supply. Won't this be a problem?

I can't tell the difference by looking at it but on Dell Support website it says it has PCI Express x16 (I have a Dell Inspiron 530)

the 5450 would never pull a fraction of 500w.
and its the ddr5 version that's better and faster, not the slower ddr3 one as a previous poster mentioned. alas, I don't think you can find a ddr5 version that's passively cooled which would be nice.

either way, the 5450 is moot at this point. you can get the 6450 for similar money which is cooler, uses less power and is faster.

this is my advice. scan is a very respectable website, and I'd sooner give them my money than komplett.

I was going to say get the 512mb version but you only save £3. might as well get the 1gb even though minecraft would never use it.

you never mentioned if your case was low profile or not but the card comes with a low profile bracket.

before buying this though, we need to know exactly what PSU you have. a good quality 300w PSU can be better than a cheapo 500w.

Thanks for the advice, I have a Bestec ATX0300P5WB PSU.

Yes. Its more orientated to the media center market these days as its passive and would handle 3D bluray stuff while being silent but itll handle minecraft. What resolution is your monitor?

I also want to play Football Manager 12 when it comes out but that's even less demanding graphics wise than Minecraft, so I shouldn't have any problems. My screen resolution is 1440 X 900 according to http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/
