Anyone know if saorview and freeview are available in Burtonport, Co Donegal. Have a holiday home there and thinking of putting a freeview HD box to pick up both on same box.

Currently have an analogue RTE and FTA satellite so its a bit fiddly for guests having to change input.

What UK Freeview signal can you pick up that far from the border?

Freeview is not available in Burtonport. Your best bet would be a combo box, Ailt an Chorráinn has a great view of the Arrain Mhor transmitter for Saorview. Will PM you the details of a local installer.

Thanks mate. I thought that might be the case. I have a spare freeview HD box so was hoping I wouldnt have to buy again. I got one of the Ferguson Combos of Tony for home so another one of those will do the job nicely. The local guy installed aerial and dish a couple of years ago, so hopefully its just a matter of plugging in.

Sat for Freeview and the Árainn Mhór transmitter for Saorview. Freeview HD boxes generally work for Saorview so plug it in and see if RTE shows up on a scan.

Freeview is UK DTT not UK satellite which is Freesat.
