This has been subject to many debates with fellow bar staff.
Some recommend clarks shoes. I wore out 3 pairs in a year. I then bought a pair of safety shoes (non slip) which have taken the wear and tear of full time quite well. However, they're not comfortable due to weight and having steel toe caps. Also they'r not breathable which means my feet are in an awful state after work each night.
I only used to wear out a pair a year when part time.
Can someone recommend a good comfortable sturdy shoe? non slip would be preferable thanks :)

Echo shoes are usually comfortable and have support in them. They are sworn by in the bar/restaurant I work in

Where would I get echo shoes? I think liffey valley has a shop but not sure.
I wouldnt be too keen on crocs imo theyre a little too exposing.

Yeah, Liffey Valley has a shop. Got a pair for wearing with a suit, best decision ever. You can wear them all day.

i find any old pair of half decent leather shoes, 30-40 euro price range..

biggest thing to make em last longer ive noticed, its polishing. i usually get about 8 months per pair with polishing

You can buy lightweight safety shoes with breathable linings. Not sure how well they'd grip in a bar thought.

You can also get non metallic safety shoes which are lighter then steel ones

Usually can get them in any good shoe shop. Got mine in Hynes for €65 though they can be abit more expensive depending on the type of shoe but well worth it. :)

Clarks Active Air, had a pair of them in my last job in a bar/night club and they lasted over a year. Prices here are scandalous though, looked at a pair in local shop and they were over €120.00

Clarks are very comfortable but are not non-slip. Pointless.

Without a doubt get a pair of Crocs! You can get Croc work shoes. I have these. I've had them for 3 years and have worked (bar/restaurant work) 60+ hour weeks during the 3 summers and during weekends when I'm at college and they are still perfect! Completely non-slip and seriously comfortable. All the chefs at work have the Croc safety shoes too :)

I don't know if you are male or female but you can get Croc work shoes for everyone on JellyEgg. I got mine there! GET THEM.
