Why isn't there any intimidating fighters around anymore?

Tyson, Liston, Foreman. These are fighters who would make other fighters shake in their boots even before they stepped into the ring with them.

Lately it's been fighters going against each other, skills, best man wins, etc. But I don't see any fighters with an aura of intimidation around them. Why do ye think?

I don't believe that it is possible to contain the same aura of intimidation in the 21st century , you are exposed by 24 hour media and social media and your entire history/media /video can be viewed via google .Alot of fighters that faced Tyson were beaten before they got in the ring , soley based on enigma and aura and fear. They still would have got beaten lol.

I think a few guys would still be intimated by Mike Perez ( he has incredible boxing and knock out credentials ) , but hasn't fought a top top heavyweight so is still unknown?

I would have said Edwin Valero definitely had it until recently. And James Kirkland probably had it also but he looks like he's been exposed a little bit.

Edison Miranda is an intimidating guy, as is Arthur Abraham a little (for a seemingly nice guy). Marcus Maidana somewhat as well.

There's not been really at Heavyweight of course, Vitali probably being the nearest. But who cares whether guys are intimidating, I care if they can fight !

We the public are not scared but of course the boxers are.

    Especially the Heavyweights.

David Haye was petrified of Wlad Klitschko. He really was.

Everyone that has fought Vitali besides Lewis has looked scared ****less.

He has won loads of fights on intimidation alone. He towers over all his opponents and would be a nightmare to fight.

It still exists, more so than ever imo.Which is why fights at the highest weight divisons have been so boring of late.

I actually was thinking about this a while back.

A lot of the time you hear people say "man, did you see so and so fight; that guy is scary". But what they really mean is that guy is good.

Duran was scary, Tyson was scary, today's guys are just very good boxers.

I agree with what was said about media coverage being a factor. We see so much of these guys now that it's hard to keep up that intimidating image. They're just seen as another person.

Vitali is intimidating, but in a sinister way, rather than a destructive way like Tyson etc.
