    Hi
My girlfriend's 16month old 3gs is broken, her brother dropped it, We sent it to vodafone the engineers vague report says pcb fault, Which is pretty obvious as it turns on/off randomly, wifi sometimes, network sometimes etc , all her photo's music settings are always intact so the drive is perfect.

So vodafone want 200bucks to fix it, Im wondering has anyone ever repaired or replaced one? Will i need to install firmware, network settings etc?
    Cheers for any advise
    Rob

I actually dropped mine too and messed up my screen today!

It's just the glass screen, everything else is working fine.

Went into o2 and got quoted €220 to fix it and Carphone Warehouse quoted me €180.

The man in Carphone Warehouse told me to check out a place called GSM Solutions on Abbey Street, Just beside the Zip Yard. Went in and got quoted €60.

Still considering whether or not to send it in there, he said it would be done in an hour but don't know if it's a bit risky. He did mention that the parts were original Apple parts, whether to take his word for it or not though!

Haven't looked up reviews so can't give ya any info about them but make sure ya do check it out if ya decide to go for it.

€180 seems a lot, so I don't really think paying that is an option for me, not sure about you though!

Good luck, hope she get's it sorted! :)
