Dell Inspiron 530

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop, and I purchased Minecraft today. When I play it, it is extremely laggy, even when I set render distance to Tiny. If I add more RAM and get a new graphics card, would this PC be capable of running Mincraft, FM12 and Sony Vegas/After Effects?
    Specs:
    2.53 GHz
    2GB Ram
Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family Graphics Card

Good sir your processor info can't be right, I've a 530 with a 2.66GHz Duo Core.
Thought they came with that as standard.

Anyhow, you need to up your Ram to the 4GB max.

I got this PC 3-4 years ago. It says here it has a 1.86 GHz Duo Core. http://www.trustedreviews.com/Dell-Inspiron-530_Desktop-PC_review_dell-inspiron-530_Page-2

Oh, just checked my system properties and it says I have a 2.53 GHz Intel Core Duo E7200. It also says I have 2 GB RAM, but I remember when buying this PC it said it had 1 GB RAM, strange. So since I have a decent processor all I need is to get more RAM? Do I need to upgrade my graphics card? When I'm playing the game it looks fine, it's just very very laggy.

Update to the latest Nvidia drivers (for your graphics card)

This is unlikely but, sometimes, people have their monitor cable plugged into the onboard video connection (which isn't very good for gaming), make sure its connected to the graphics card (which will be in one of the slots)

I have an Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family graphics card, not an NVIDIA. The specs I listed in my first post were incorrect. I've changed it now. Apologies.

Ah, onboard graphics will be a little weak

This card would be more than enough for minecraft and would also run most modern games surprisingly well when coupled with the core2duo (not an obsolete chip yet by any stretch)

50 pounds sterling.. should be free delivery

FM12 would be fine too, and you'll have to look up minimum specs for Vegas/After Effects

If you are on a tighter budget give me the max and I'll find a graphics card for you

Thanks. I'll upgrade to 4 GB RAM first and I'll let you know how I get on.
