I like Gomez. Watched him mature over the contender series a few years back. Genuinely likeable guy, and good boxer.

I have been keeping an eye of Alvarez over the past year and a half. He always comes forward and brawls, that makes him one of my favourite fighters. I have watched his fights even when they were the main event, so it is a big bonus that it is on the Mayweather undercard.

I think Saul Alvarez will have too much. If Alvarez wins it would be interesting to see if he wins and Mayweather wins they could fight around the 150lbs mark. Not that i'd think it would happen, but i'd love to.

Alvarez is too big, too strong and too powerful for Gomez. I just can't see a way in which Gomez gets the better of this. He can't outbox him and if he gets into a war, which is what he'll probably try to do, he'll be taken apart.

Saul Alverez is the next big thing, he is going to slaughter Gomez.

Alvarez is going to beat him up. Stoppage in 7-8. Cotto demolished him in 5, the doc stopped the fight. Alvarez will be around for years, class act. 38 fights (37 wins) only 21 years old insane

Have to strongly disagree with the emboldened bit. He's a very good boxer technically, with beautiful punch variety and classy moves. Just cos he's white and has red hair doesn't mean he boxes like Mickey Ward.

This one might not last long. Nice shot by Alvarez.

    Commentating terrible already.

EDIT: Wow, those are some powerful shots by Alvarez. Don't see this going past halfway.

What part did you mean to embold?

This round was more of a typical Alvarez.

Against Matthew Hatton and Rhodes Alvarez was brawling them up against the ropes once/twice most rounds, more other rounds.

Alvarez is explosive. Feel a little bad for Gomez who was doing well but that's boxing. The ref did the right thing, he took some massive shots and it wasn't going to stop.

A little bit of a flash from the normal Alvarez, and it is all over.

Ref did the right thing but no way am I impressed by this... I'd beat my dog more comprehensively than this... and I love my dog
