parking fine galway city

Hi all,

just found a parking ticket behind the windscreen.:( Was trying to pay it online as indicated on the notice but it keeps asking for the Parking Ticket Number (without leading zeros) which I cannot find on the notice. Does anyone know where to find this number?

Are you sure it's a GCC ticket and not a private company?

It can take up to 24 hours for it to become live because the person who put the ticket on your car has to bring back their handheld unit and upload it to the system.

You have 28 days to pay anyway.

Could it be a garda ticket as opposed to a city council ticket?

Edit: Maybe not as you seem to say that the notice says that it can be paid online to the council.

Just rang them and was told that it takes a couple of days for it to come live. Will have to wait another while so ...

It wasn't on the docks by any chance? Those guys are ruthless! Used to live in Dun Aengus and when I was moving in they gave me a ticket after telling me they wouldn't? I was there for no longer then 10 mins. Horrible lot! Always ticketing tourists cars without a minute to spare. Awful!

Burly guy with black hair and grunts and mumbles? Stands outside "The bunch of Grapes" with a pint in his hand and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth for the entire duration of Summer when he is not working pointing at people? Must of been refused from the Gaurds or the army when he was younger.
