Players that were Eligible for Ireland

Just wondering is there much players out there that currently play for another international team but were eligible to play for Ireland due to parents/grandparents etc?

eg. Stephen Moore (Austrailia) and Shane Geraghty (England)

Pat McCabe could have played for Ireland. Both grandparents were Irish.

Kyran Bracken was born in Dublin if I'm not mistaken - capped for England. Retired now though.

Drew Mitchell is. He expressed an interest in playing for Ireland before he was capped by Australia. I was looking through an old rugby world mag I have the other day and he gives an interview in it that's basically a come get me plea to the IRFU, he even poses in an Irish jersey for the photo shoot.

In other news - I think the uncapped South African hooker and current Leinster squad member, Richardt Strauss, qualifies to play for Ireland this season. This could solve a problem or two for us.

Stephen Moore has Irish roots. His parents are Irish and seemingly he lived in Tuam for a bit when he was younger. The IRFU approached him when he was younger but he turned them down.

Ulsters no 8/6 Robbie Diack will b IQ soon. I've feck all knowlege of league but I'll bet there would be potential there too.

Well thats one we let get away. Doran-Jones is Irish qualified, probably half the Australian team too if you dig deep enough.
