    Have a 07 S max 1.9 Diesel
Replaced the power steering pump a year ago after hearing a humming noise that kept getting louder and louder!

Lately have been hearing a similar humming noise in car, but not always....
Brought it to a mechanic and typical, no noise from the car.
Last couple of days though, there is a strong smell of diesel in the car!

Any suggestions as to what maybe wrong?

I know the power steering pump often goes in these cars and seems to be a fault.

The humming noise could be coming from an low pressure intank fuel pump...not sure if yours has one tho..

Can you see any diesel under the car when its been parked for awhile..?

Does the smell of diesel come into the car when your driving or is it there all the time..?

Common enough problem seems to be oil dripping onto the exhaust I would say myself and then coming in the air vents, find the leak, fix the leak and replace the pollen filter

    Thanks Stephen

    @ muckeyw,

Enough of the shilling. Take a week off, if it happens again after that it will be permanent.

Stephen, you've been warned before in no uncertain terms about shilling.

I am not happy that you've taken this instruction on board, and so I'm removing your access from this forum.

most lightly its injector leak off pipes, if you look around the injectors you should see diesel lying there
