has anyone had this done with bord gais, just wondering if it is working out expensive

*The package price is €2,940 for installation of a high efficiency boiler, high quality heating controls and a BER (Building Energy Rating) including total savings of €890 (SEAI Grant & Bord Gáis Energy Discount). This is a reference only and may vary depending on house type, size and structure. All services are subject to an assessment and a detailed quotation will be provided. **Figures based on 20% deposit, interest free payment, over 24 months, up to a 3 bedroom home, SEAI grant approval and completion of a BER (Building Energy Rating). ***This includes a €80 grant from SEAI and a €100 discount from Bord Gáis Energy towards the cost of a BER (Building Energy Rating).

Is this the final quote or subject to a site survey? If the later it will probably works out dearer. Also the price is minus the grant as Board Gais process that now and take it away from the quote the customer gets i.e. €2940 + €560 + €80 for BER = €3580.
Board Gais have always come in a lot more expensive on any job I have quoted for by over a thousand euro in some cases.

You should get them out for a detailed quote and then get a couple of independent heating installers in to quote also any you will be surprised at the difference.

    The reason is overheads.
Board Gais need a cut, Sierra need a cut and the contractor sierra get to do the work has to be paid.

Let us know how it transpires.
