are you filtering the diesel on the filler hose from your storage tank ,

Filtering = using a high micro filter and water trap/filter , if you are not doing this you cannot say the diesel is ok

a contractor I know has been doing for years long before the new diesel,

    YES he runs JD's too

it could be short circuit , start at the fuse and trace the the wiring

I know of a Case that had a similar problem . main dealer charged €2K for sensors etc., and problem re occupied, a indy auto sparkie fixed the problem with 4 ins. of table on a bare wire

Do you know what the fuse is for?
That's your starting point. Can't see what blowing a fuse has to do with the fuel filters.

i remember reading somewhere that some chap was having trouble with his john deere blowing fuses.
It turned out that wiring loom runs down one of the cab pillars and was over the years rubbing and eventually wore a hole in the wiring causing it to blow fuses.
wouldn't explain why the filter fixes the problem.

Does the tractor have an electric fuel pump? If the pump was starting to fail it would draw extra current and blow fuses. Changing the filters could take pressure off the pump.
