    tbh I had a hard time printing from one of the new printer/photocopier machines yesterday. The instructions posted on the wall are very lacking.

    Was this you who left this message on the wall of the machine in the Arts/Science print release station then? :P

    Was trying to use them yesterday. I swear I logged in four or five times forgetting to tag the copy/scan thing first......

    horrifically stupid system imho.

    stupid 1st year question. where do you buy the credit or whatever to use the printers???

    I find the printers grand - you can do good A3 colour photo prints for 80c! The login is very slow though, pity they don't hook up a student id reader so you could just swipe and it'd log you in to release print jobs.

    Or there's a few kiosks around too, log in and insert cash. There is a small printer room down beside computer services desk that has one.

    I'm an idiot... that's exactly what you can do. There's a place to swipe your card over and it logs you straight in! Used the printer today to scan for the first time... emailed me the PDF, very handy. I couldn't see a function to scan multiple pages as a document though... just sent me a lost of single page PDFs which I'll have to merge now.

    If they're anything like the ones I'm used to using, anything stacked in the document feeder will scan together as one document, whereas anything on thick card/stapled/awkwardly sized you have to place on the glass to scan individually will only be one page docs that can't be merged.
    Admittedly I haven't tinkered with the new printers yet, but you could try it if you have lots of docs and merging is a pain.

    It costs EUR0.10 per A4 sheet to print. I also gave up using the University printers because they were user unfriendly. The people in charge of them should be fired.

    I got charged over €6 for a print job (A3 colour pages) last week which didn't print. I assume the printer was out of A3 paper or something.

    Submitted a support ticket to ISS asking about a refund last Monday and haven't heard back yet. Just an automatic email to say they'd opened my ticket. :mad:

    No it's not 10c to print... the prices are;

    Sorry, I got it wrong. I guess EUR0.08 per A4 sheet is reasonable enough.

    Why is printing in B&W more expensive than copying in B&W?? They use the same toner and paper and techniques.....
