I failed my repeat exams for first year can i progress into 2nd year. I am doing a third level 8 course in nursing. Ok so i failed one assignment and i decided to defer it until the next year but then i also failed a written exam aswell that i taught i would pass. The exam was a month after my father passed away and i have heard of extenuating circumstances, would i be granted one so i can progress and complete these two exams at the end of my 2nd year?

i think you should at least head up to the registry and tell them about your circumstances, dcu is usual understanding about these things, about 30 in my class failed and most are coming back, its just a matter of paying to repeat a module/s from your last year in your current year ( depends on your modules too, some cant be repeated, but students in the health science faculty are considered valuable, they will give you serious consideration ,as opposed to the wasters doing arts who are in college for the booze and fun).
