Heys guys golfing for nearly 2 yrs and finally mastered "compression on the golfball". Man what ive been missing.
My approach shots are going where i want them
Gained another 20 yards per club
And dont get me going on the confidence booster.
So for any of you who are still "pickin or sweeping" the ball of the ground like i were, please dont be afraid and drive that golfball into the ground. I actually were afraid coz i couldnt visualise hitting down with a 9 iron or wedge for that matter but do.... Trust me.
    BUT NOT WITH THE DRIVER....:)
How it happened for me was i just went out to play golf, didnt think about swing mechanics, keepin head down, shifting hips first to start downswing etc... So please go out tomorrow and compress that little white ball into the ground and try not to smile to much after. In the great words
    HIT DOWN DAMMIT!

I know you'd think it was the easiest thing in the world but it's like your head is always telling you that hitting down is the complete opposite of what you should be doing. I got my first crisp hit down two weeks ago and couldn't believe the distance, unfortunately because I wasn't expecting it I overshot the green. Best round I played so far though.

Saying that though some golfers will tell you that you should do likewise in the drive but in a sense take an 'air divot' which is why you see golfers position their tee shot just inside their leading foot.

Been hitting crisp irons and taking lovely divots with my clubs for 6 months now. Great feeling, only downside is the swing change carried over to my driver and woods. I struggle to get the ball in the air with them now but I can hit my irons for fun. Very frustrating
