Budget ski/snowboard trip January 2012

    So a few friends and I want to go away for a week in January.

    Our number one priority is budget. A secondary desire is variety of slopes, as we are a mixed group in terms of skill level.
    Apres ski does not matter to us.

    Last year in Isola2000 we managed to get :
    Accomodation: ~€75 a week
    Return flights and other transport :~€130
    Ski/board rental with insurance : €~80
    Ski pass : €120

    For food and other general expenditure as well, we paid under 500e total each for the trip. We all felt that was pretty reasonable.

    This year, we'd like to go somewhere else and pay a similar amount. French and German speaking countries would be preferable, but we are open to suggestions (CzechRep, Croatia).

    Does anyone know any ski resorts that tend to have cheap accomodation? I've been trying to use some of the ski package search websites, but many of them only seem to have the bigger resorts included. Other are just badly laid out and a pain to trawl through individually, so I thought I'd ask here before commencing the long haul search.

    Hey KStolen,

    You definitely got a good deal last year!

    try ActivityBreaks.com, they offer really cheap breaks in montecampione

    They are on piste apartments, and pretty cheap too plus it includes ski passes and ski hire.

    I traveled there before and you can always get cheap flights from dublin to milan bergamo - about €80

    might be worth checking out... :)
