I don't doubt that he had his reasons but surely most of these reasons would have been apparent before he decided to talk about running.


It just annoyed me that he disappeared for a few weeks without giving a reason for not running. I stand to be corrected on this but he was posting at the time in other forums.

I explained this a few times to a few in the Louth section.
* At the time of the persons running in my Louth area, there was 4 available positions. One was automatically taken by a prior returning Ceann Comhairle at the time (who is always give an automatic seat at the next running elections). That left three seats. FG was 100% going to get one as was Labour - all in the area knew this. They were a shue-in. That left one seat - then Gerry Adams parachuted in. Well that was that, game over.
* Add to this, I run a number of websites. All were hacked by a particular hacker whom stole a lot of details including back account details, credit card details and more I cannot say. Many charges suddenly began to appear on statements and confirmation phone calls from banks started to roll in asking what the hell was going on - this happening while I was try to play catch-up in damage done to the websites and servers (my family site now has to be password protected), besides doing a paperchase with businesses and the state authorities to sort out the mess. I was thrown into a nightmare scenario.
Long story short - my time become extremely limited, stressful and it was effecting personal life to say the least. I had to prioritise and go into triage as regards aspects of my life.
