yes straight forward, (if you have a quad lnb already )
it will work on a single but you wont be able to watch one program and record another at the same time.

If you have a sky + plus box already then your sorted, and its only a matter of swapping the boxes over and ringing sky to pair the box with the card.

I recently got a sky plus HD box, so am going to give my original Sky Plus box to my dad. From reading this i realise that i have to call sky to pair the card. But my question is do i need an engineer to call to set it up or can i just do it myself.

I take it your dad just has a standard box? If so,there's just a single cable running to it-swap the lnb for a quad and run a second cable to take full advantage of the Sky+ functions.

Have a look at your own setup to see how its done.

Once it's in then ring Sky to pair the card to the box.(Your dad will have to do this as the Sky account is in his name, have the card number & serial number of the box to hand to speed things up on the phone)

Your local installer/ satellite shop will have what you need for sale or failing that try here http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/LNB_Quad__for_Sky_Minidish.html
