M4 magazine in a Steyr

16-09-2011 01:15PM#1This Project Frankensteyr, as you can see it now uses an M4 mag, this is a 700 d-boys mag I had lying around.
The next pic is of the modded mag and a standard mag, I basically lined up a steyr mag and using a nail roughly marked the area to be cut, I only used a junior hacksaw on this
You need to take a fair bit off the front of the mag so the trigger mechanism does not foul on it, you also need to shave down the area in front of the feed nozzle
To make the mag catch, take a rough measurement from the steyr mag and make a shallow cut, simply lift it gently with a screwdriver, don't panic as using this method allows you scope for adjustment. I know it looks ugly but I am only 30 minutes into this and it already feeds perfectly, just a couple of tweaks to make it pretty looking!
