Guitar amplifier damages when brought as luggage?

What's the potential damages involved in bringing two guitar amp heads on a plane? I have two marshall guitar heads, like this http://www.thomann.de/ie/marshall_1959slp.htm , to fit in this http://www.thomann.de/se/thon_amp_ca...ll_jcm2000.htm , and i want to check them in as normal luggage with SAS when i fly out from Dublin via Copenhagen to Sweden after the christmas holidays. I'm pretty sure lots of things can break but if anyone has a specific answer to what could potentially break that would be great. If you have any tips or solutions to this it would be good too.
Would i be stupid to bring them with Ryanair or are the baggage handlers all the same in the airports?
I've looked into driving and also sending them on some package company. But it's costly.

We have had our bags "lost" by SAS on no less than 6 occasions when travelling through Copenhagen. If they are worth money or have sentimental value, ship them properly.
