I've been using Dave for years now, just got 4 news tyres supplied and fitted. The tyres were €10 a corner more expensive than Eiretyres, but when you consider Daves price includes coming out, fitting and balancing, getting rid of the old ones it is outstanding value for money.

I've done the Eiretyres route for winters before as I was stuck, but it really was a PITA compared to someone who comes to you.

On top of that he returns calls, is very amenable and his fitter does a great job.

    Very happy customer.

Does he come to you to fit the tyres? Does he do winter tyres?

    Yes and yes.

Good to know. The fact you don't mention he's in Blancherstown undelines the inherent assumption sometimes evident in this forum that everyone lives beside the M50:)!

I find Hefferenans in Kildare quite good as well.

Well he fitted mine in North Wicklow, more N11 than M50 ;-)

While they seem to be highly recommended (especially for wheel alignment), the one and only time I visited I found him very abrupt. Quoted a price on the phone for Eagle F1's (at the time) which was way dearer than eiretyres but then when I went for fitting and tracking said I was robbed and he could have done it a lot cheaper. The usual bs. Maybe times are different now and they have changed their tune.

I've got tyres from Dave McCann a few times (but the last time was at least 5 years ago). I found him professional, pleasant to deal with and he had good prices too (but let's not kid ourselves here, no Irish B&M shop can compete with internet giants on the price of a tyre)

Yep, opposite the Chilling on the old main road out of town.

Probably true on price but I couldn't be arsed buying online, having to be there for delivery, finding someone to fit them and dragging them there...lifes too short to save a few €€. That may sound lazy or conceited but that's how it is for me at the moment.

If the OP got them balanced and fitted for only €40 over the price of supply-only from Eiretyres, it looks like they can compete though, no?

Any place will probably charge €10 a corner for balancing and fitting if you bring them tyres you bought elsewhere.

And let's not forget the ordeal Cormie went through after ordering cheapsh1te tyres online :)

I order everything and anything online. But not tyres.
