As most or all of us know getting time in for running can be tough, well its got tougher for me now with herself back working so some of my days off now are with the small fella so my lovely morning runs are gone for those days anyway,i can still run at night but with all this time at home i am wondering can i put some of it to use while he is taking a nap.

Any suggestions welcome, core work, weights, sit ups push ups etc...
I have no clue about core work so am depending on some sound advice from the more dedicated on here.
Links to sites would be a help.

If she read this she would say "you could clean the house" or something of the like....but meh...try get away with as much of that as possible.

    Thanks

Now where have I heard that before.

If you have a 2 storey house stairs climbing 2 steps at a time is a great workout.

    Hey Sosa,

Have a look at this http://vimeo.com/4752171
It's part 1 of 5, you'll find the rest of them down the right hand side.
I tried them earlier in the year and found it really good (until I got lazy)

I know they can be quite expensive, but have you thought about getting a jogging stroller? Sometimes I can get my little guy to nap in it :D

He'll be killed when he wears out the carpet on every second step.

Sosa lad you replace your rest day or easy running day with some cross training i.e. if you have a bike get your self an ergotrainer. An example of one is the Tacx T1680 Flow.
I'm sure you could get one at a reasonable price 2nd hand

what is this nap business you talk of? We've put a treadmmill in the kitchen and it's fantastic. you can hire them if tyou don't want to invest straight off.

I've heard that some babies sleep. Obviously an urban legend.

Buy the dvd Insanity and it will get you a serious workout 6 days a week for 40 min. Unreal stuff.

A threadmill in the kitchen, would that not wake the little one up?

Usually get out for a run after 7 in the evening , as when i put my daughter down to sleep, she just goes pretty quickly. She loves her bed except for when teeth at her.

Anyone else have images of someone trying to do 10K while working a frying pan?

    Do some circuit training.

    Something like:
    Leg Thrusts
    Tricep Dips
    Plank
    Squats
    Lunges
    PushUps
    Skipping
    Situps

    50sec on 10sec off

    You'll be wrecked.
