2nd year CS assessment details

    I'm doing BSc Multimedia which means I'll be doing a total of six CS modules throughout the year; CS130, CS210 and CS260 in the first semester.

    Can anyone tell me how the continuous assessment works for these modules? I know the CA is worth 50% of each module, but how is it divided between labs, exams and assignments?

    Lecturers will usually tell you at the start, however when I did CS210 each lab was worth 3% x 10 = 30% ca max. Well you might be able to do a bit extra to get above the 30%, again depends on the lecturer.
    CS130 - lecturer will give class tests and marked labs. This was 40% CA when I did it. On the module descriptors it says they can be up to 50% CA, lecturer decides what the CA will be.

    Thanks for the info!

    As regards to difficulty level, I'm told 130 and 210 are fairly hard going? Any truth to this?

    130 - easy
    210 - it's not hard as long as you put the work in.

    Cheers! Does it matter that it says ARTS in brackets at the top though? Or does it apply to all CS students?

    they're all the modules your doing, the CS department normally doesn't double teach/run separate lectures.
