My computer has just died. Sems to be a dead motherboad or processor. Any suggestions for a new gming computer? Wiling to spend around €1000.

Ill probably go for one of these

The ****ty thing is I only got a new graphics card a few months back. A gtx 460. But I have no clue how it copares to the ones on komplett.

I'd appreciate any incites or reccommendations.

Open the side panel of the PC. When you switch the PC on, do any lights come on, or any fans spin? Does the fan on the power unit come on?

Roughly how old is the PC, and did you build it yourself, or did it come prebuilt? If the former, do you know what socket of processor it is, or if the latter, what is the make and model?

All the fans come on, mobo lights up, hard drives work. Computer doesn't post though. Tried switching the ram sticks around and booting without some of the extras plugged in but no luck. Computer is just over three years old. It was the komplett gaming PC. I'll post the specs when I get home. On the iPhone at the moment.

Ugh. Sounds like the monitor or the graphics card. Try your old graphics card, and maybe another monitor if you have access to one. No point in buying a new PC just because your monitor is broken!

Wouldn have thought a monitor could stop the computer going to post. This one looks good

Took the whole thing apart and reassembled it. Computer won't start with the monitor plugged in so you may have been right about that.

That makes no sense. By post, you mean something come on the screen... so if nothing comes on the screen, it could be one of three things:
    a) the computer
    b) the graphics card is not outputting anything to the monitor
    c) the monitor is not showing anything that is outputted to it.

Before spending money on a new machine, at least try to hook up the PC to another working monitor or TV, and reboot the PC.

By post I mean the beep from the motherboard. Also nothing comes on screen. But If I unplug the monitor and turn on the computer it loads up fine and then I just plug it back in.

Make sure the video card is getting adequate power, those GTX460s I think need two PCIe power plugs plugged in, make sure both are plugged in/not loose etc. If you only have one plugged in you would need both to power the graphics card

I checked that. Disabled one of the dvd drives and hard drives too. It may be just a faulty card. I only bought it in January.

It could be a faulty card alrite, see if you can borrow another card to test and confirm its the card, if its under a year old let warranty sort it, but confirm its the card first :).
