Hi, I recently bought a 2nd hand mac work station and when I try to connect my HD so as to transfer music files it will not read them. It shows my HD in the finder and the folder where I have the files. However it says 0 files and when I connect it to my windows laptop, the files are all read. Anyone know what the problem might be here?

    Thanks!

Maybe try repairing the HDD in Windows. OS X can't write to NTFS drives, but it should be able to read them.

Also, what version of OS X does the Mac have?

Think ntfs support came in leopard or snow leopard have a look for a program called paragon and you should be up and running that's if it works on 10.4.11

I'm not sure when NTFS support was added, but it was definitely before Tiger/10.4.

Hi, Sorry but I am completely new to mac's so I have no idea what you guys are saying. I basically want to transfer about 130GB of music files from my external HD on to the mac and it will not detect any of these items. It does read the HD however but when I click into the music folder it will not display any of the items. Just trying to figure out what how to fix this.

    Thanks
