They already remade it with cars and Vin Diesel and it sucked.

I have honestly stopped caring about remakes at this stage.

Clearly they think that nothing is sacred, so I just won't be giving any money towards crap remakes.

Hopefully if we all do this, they will eventually get the fcuking message.

Some films are ripe for the remake though. Like for example The Crazies last year.

That said most films are not. Sometimes I look at what's being remade and just think 'What the fu.ck are you thinking.'

What kind of person would possibly sit down and think 'You know what we should do? Remake Point Break. I just don't think they did it good enough the first time.'

Or even with the Pink Panther films, Steve Martin thinking 'Ya, I'll have a pop at Inspector Clouseau. That part hasn't already been nailed.'

The list goes on and on. It's sickening. And there are good films waiting to be made. The suits just won't take the risk on them because a remake already has a built in audience. People are aware of it. So it makes money. There are other reasons of coarse all to do with there potential to make money.

I think not giving your money to go and see remakes is a good idea. I mostly avoid them. I watched The Crazies and am glad I did, I think the only other one I saw was the Friday the 13th remake but that was for personal reasons.

We should start a masonic society. Our main goal to get people to stop watching remakes.

Remakes don't actually generally bother me all that much - a good yarn can stand a good retelling - but I did find myself wondering in bemusement a while back about who in the name of Jaysus really thinks we need another version of Jane Eyre.

Welcome to the world of a life long horror fan.Ive seen so many genre classics bastardised at this stage I just dont care anymore.

I dont pay to see them,rarely/never have.If more people had the same attitude then remakes/reimaginings etc wouldnt happen but no,Im sure most people that post on this forum have gone and paid to see loads of remakes over the years so now that the corpse of the horror franchise has been stripped to the bone the big wigs seem to be looking for another teet to suckle on.

    Hah.
