    Hi All

The key fob has been acting up on my Rover 25 for the past while working sometimes not the others

Well it finally stopped working but while the car was locked meaning I can open the car with the key but the immobilser is still on meaning I can't start it

So I need to get a new fob (preferably two) and the immobilser turned off but guess if I get a working fob I'll be OK

NO rover dealers around anymore. Anybody here have the knowledge!!!! Would like to get it sorted before the weekend. All help appreciated

This is a bit profound but are you sure it's not the batteries in the fob?
Also do you have the EKA code? If you do you can disable the alarm and immobiliser using the key :)

    http://www.mgrovercodes.com/eka-code...FYob4QodXB3ipg

They'll give you a code the code you can enter through the drivers door that will knock off the immobiliser until the battery is next disconnected.

    Where are you based?

Iirc White Bishop cars and K&C were Rover dealers, dunno if White Bishop are still around.

It would be quite easy to get the code off the site I linked to and just disable it. At the moment you'll have to get the car trailored to a garage if you want them to sort it, not small money really I would think.

I'd nearly go to Ryans in Blanch.

I priced work at K&C garages and they were VERY expensive.

Alternately price the work at a Land Rover garage as the key fob and immobiliser system was the same as in the Freelander

    Based in Blanchardtown

How can it be disabled? After that would I just be able to use the keys as normal?

that code thing didnt work turns out the car is too old and they dont have the code therefore they say I might need a diagnostic machine to sort it

Anyway to just remove/disable the immobiliser altogether i.e. rip it out without the code

If its the same system as Freelander you can buy the fobs complete on ebay, you then need diagnostic kit to program them. You may be able to find someone with the proper Rover diagnostic kit to remove the immobiliser totally, it is not a DIY job (the engine ECU has to be re-programmed to ignore the lack of start permission from the alarm). The EKA code will only over-ride it temporarily until you come to restart when it will immobilise again.

Let it be a warning, look after your fob! ;)

You can also get new fob cases if the innards are ok and just swap them over.
