TV's in DID are ridiculously pricey and they'd want to be offering well in excess of 10% to even get close to being competitive.

Apply their discounts across the board and chances are you'll still find their products cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks mickoneill30. I've found that with DID if you go in with a quote from a competitor, they will match it or take a tenner off.

Ah well the item I wanted was cheaper with them than any of the local competitors so I'm happy to get an extra 15% off.

I think it's kind of obvious that if you can get the item cheaper elsewhere then buy it elsewhere. I didn't mean to imply for people to just buy stuff because there's a discount, brains should still be engaged. It's just handy if you were thinking of buying something from DID.

I got a PANASONIC 42" FHD PLASMA - TX-P42S30B for 649. At Currys it is 729. Minus 250euro voucher as a new ntl subscriber and 40euro voucher from work comes to 360euro.:D.

Your best bet is to wait for these companies to have a large warehouse clearence sale. Usually every 3-4 months, they have this warehouse sale.

I got some of my appliences for the new kitchen and also 2 TVs for an avarage saving of 40% off each item doing it this way.

I got a brand new Belling 5 ring (wok style) gas hob with auto ignition for a mere 90 euro,as the packaging was torn and the manual was missing.

I also got a brand new Philips 1080P full HD 32 inch TV for 200 euro,as the power lead and DVD was missing from the box.

I had to que up at the warehouse in Tallaght for 1 hour in the early morning, but it was well worth it,in the end.:D

Well that DID "open till midnight" sale must have been some flop indeed.

Girlfriend dropped by their Artane branch at 9pm tonight and they were closed and all lights off.

Both of us driving by,back from Tesco,Clare Hall at 11pm tonight and it was closed up still.

Why put ads on their website and on TV saying "sale on" and "open till midnight tonight",when they clearly wont be open till midnight.

DID need a big kick up the ar5e.

P.S-Probably wouldnt have bought anything anyway, just browzing and taking note of their prices.
