Studying while on Back To Work Enterprise

    Hi,

I recently started the Back To Work Enterprise Allowance and I fully intend on starting my own graphic design business. But I would also like to participate in a course that is technically full time but in reality is only 24 hours a week. I can concentrate on the business, working around the course times. Am I entitled to do this? I see nothing on the Social Welfare website saying I can't. But I'd hate to start and get cut off either or at worst both. Any advice really appreciated as the cousre is due to start on friday!!!

Here is the link to the site

    Thanks

From the above link:Seasonal, temporary or part time work is not acceptable for the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance.

As you would be enrolled in a full time course, then you couldn't be seen to be working full time in your self employed business, so you would not be entitled to Back to Work.

Thanks for the reply cee_jay, even if wasn't the one I'd hoped for!! But good to know it. I called the citizens advice and they said it was grand to do it. But I didn't think that you could, it's just that the regulations didn't state to be in education wasn't on.

    Thanks again.
