Anyone else experiencing any issues with ssh -D ? Ubuntu 10.10. In the last week it has stopped working reliably for me. I have tried different servers on different networks with no luck.

    Thanks for the reply.

Updated the ssh_config as suggested (from 30 to 5). No difference.

    Version is: OpenSSH_5.3p1 Debian-3ubuntu7, OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009

The issue is if I point my browser at the port I've set up with -D it works for about a second, then stalls. Any attempt to use the shell on the remote machine does nowt during this time (so the connection has gone belly up) but input is buffered and eventually (presumably after a timeout / reconnect of some sort) seems to come back to life.

Well....I got fed up with this and installed the 11.04 ssh client and upgraded my libssl. Presto, problem solved.
